Yesterday, the governor of the Province of Buenos Aires, María Eugenia Vidal, and the mayor of the City of Buenos Aires, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, visited the Museum with the Judge Sergio Torres on the occasion of future joint projects.
The mayor said: ´´The Museum transmits a possitive message. I liked the combination of the holocaust exhibitions with the dictatorship exhibitions, and I found really interesting the fact that it´s posible to see details, objects.´´
The governor asserted: ´´This a place that should be known for lots of kids so they won´t lose the memory. We are going to take all the material we could see here as an itinerant display to the Province.´´
Héctor Shalom, Director of the Ana Frank Center of Argentina and Representative of the Anne Frank Stichting, recently declared ´´distinguished person´´ in the field of human rights by the Legislature of Buenos Aires, remarked: ´´The inclusive educational proposals and their numerous actions in the field of humans rigths, have positioned the Anne Frank Museum as a model of action before coexistance dilemas, bullying and discrimination, as well as a model in teacher training. The giving curses under C-522 registration, whose purpose is giving permanent spaces of teaching, offer tolos for building strategies of intervention. The signing of many agreements about cooperation with many ministers of the city of Buenos Aires and the province of Buenos Aires, allowed us to create continuity of the projects.
In turn, Shalom said: ´´From the opening in 2009, the Museum carry out numerous actions in the human rights field. More than 200.000 people, come to the museum. During this year, 22.000 students visited us. Students and teachers, receive from the volunteers guide hands, the transmission of history and reflexion, because we appreciate the activation of young people today. It is important to point the law 26.809, which declares June 12th as ´´Youth and Young Adult Day for inclusion, togetherness, against violence and discrimination in honor of the birth of Anne Frank” and the Nº 212/13 resolution of the Federal Council of Education, in which every province of the country add to their school calendars June 12th as ´´Youth and Young Adult Day for inclusion, togetherness, against violence and discrimination in honor of the birth of Anne Frank”.
The Ana Frank Center of Argentina (C.A.F.) is part of the Anne Frank House of Amsterdam Holanda with more than 50 years of experience in education, innovative educational projects and teacher training. It started during 1991 in Argentina and, from that moment, it has done many activities in the education field. Furthermore, the director of the museum declared ´´Ana Frank and their legacy, are a starting point for the construction of experiences that encourage the reflexion about the most horrible episodes of the history as well as the building of social incusion, against violence and discrimination.´´
The Ana Frank Center has a council academic adviser, lead by the Federal Judge of the Nation Sergio Torres, and formed by María Luisa Storani, Ex Congresist and actual Member of the Mercosur Parlamient, Luis Quevedo, Director of EUDEBA and Ana María Ravaglia Deputy Secretary of the Nation.
